Our cameras are fantastic at recording what is in front of them, but mostly we want to emphasise certain parts and de-emphasise other elements. We may also want to add dimensionality to flat looking objects. All of this is done with the tools of dodging and burning. We demonstrate how to do this effectively in Lightroom and Photoshop.
