Challenge Night # 1 "Inspired by"

Our first Challenge night of the year was an outstanding success. With slightly fewer numbers in attendance than usual, due to the ongoing stormy weather in Sydney, we had a number of wonderfully expressive images from our members who used a number of different photographers and artists for inspiration. Everybody in attendance agreed that the exercise taught them a lot about the artist they studied and the techniques being used. Our expert in house facilitator, Jim Crew led the discussions and we look forward to many more challenges along a similar theme. The image attached to this post was made by our member James Gray, using the flower portraits of Robert Mapplethorpe as inspiration.
