Essential Skills Presentation: Advanced Capture Techniques

Our last meeting continued our series of Essential Skills with a presentation of Advanced Capture Techniques. The techniques presented and discussed included exposure bracketing, HDR, focus stacking, intentional camera movement, depth of field previews, focus and exposure modes and much more. Judging by the questions asked and comments made, it would seem that we all went away with some new information to apply in our photo creation.

The topics discussed will have some practical application in coming events. Our forthcoming outing to Cockatoo Island will provide a number of opportunities to try some of the techniques, in readiness for a challenge night later in the year which will have advanced capture techniques as its theme.

To allow for a review of the presentation or for information for members who could not attend the night, a downloadable pdf version of the PowerPoint presentation along with some accompanying notes have been added to our website, in the support section.  (See Presentation 6)

The attendance was again very good in spite of it being a most wintery evening.

Our next meeting is a Challenge Night with the theme being Symmetry. So get your creativity hats on and show how much symmetry you can find
