Monochrome Challenge Thursday 20th February
The response to our first challenge night for 2025, at our last meeting, was truly outstanding. There were a large number of entrants and a large number of submissions and the quality of the photographs displayed was excellent. The subjects depicted were varied and interesting, covering a wide range of subject genres.
Once again there was good participation in our group discussion, which was capably moderated by Andrew and Rebecca Monkman. Andrew and Rebecca volunteered for the task for the first time. They elicited a lot of group discussion and kept the evening moving along in spite of the large number of submissions. Many positive assessments were made and, as usual, each photographer was able to explain their motivations and reasons for creating the photographs they submitted. This level of discussion gave us all the opportunity to learn from good positive photographic evaluation.
If any members would like to take on the task of moderator at one of our upcoming evaluation nights, just let me know. It can be a daunting task, if you have never attempted it before, but it is a rewarding exercise.
For our next meeting we will be having normal evaluation session with open subject. So get out your cameras and prepare your submissions.
